These are live, interactive classes, taught using the communicative approach. The target language will be spoken as often as possible, in pairs and small groups and with the teacher. Course syllabuses are set, with aims and objectives to help you make good progress. All skills are used: Listening, reading, speaking and writing. The Japanese writing systems of Hiragana and Katakana are taught and used throughout the courses.

No previous experience, a complete beginner’s course.

Designed for people who can conjugate simple verbs in the present tense and use basic everyday vocabulary to form sentences.

Can generally conjugate verbs in present tense and form sentences in this language. Past and future tenses are taught here and students know enough vocabulary to form sentences and hold a simple conversation

Can conjugate verbs in the present tense, past and future tenses (may need some revision) and know enough vocabulary to hold a conversation. Higher-level grammar is taught here.

Designed for people who can communicate well on a variety of topics. Higher-level grammar tuition is still required and vocabulary is continually learnt.
