Priscila Riffo

  • Spanish Teacher

¡Hola! I’m Priscila; a Chilean language educator with a passion for teaching both Spanish and English. My journey into teaching Spanish began when I first arrived in the UK in 2005–2006 as a Spanish assistant through the British Council, working with secondary school students in London. Little did I know that what started as an adventure abroad would turn into a lifelong commitment to language education (and an endless appreciation for British tea and unpredictable weather).

When teaching, I like to co-create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment where students actively participate in communicative activities, developing both confidence and fluency. I believe that language learning should be enjoyable and interactive, encouraging students to express themselves naturally and comfortably. Through discussions, role-plays,
and collaborative tasks, students can engage in authentic ways, ensuring that they feel confident in a variety of contexts.

Beyond teaching, I love travelling, exploring new places, and immersing myself in different cultures. It’s through my own experiences of attempting to engage in conversation while navigating unfamiliar languages that I truly understand the challenges (and joys!) of real- world communication. These moments shape my teaching and help me prepare my students
for the kinds of interactions they might face.
